Our client has an opportunity for an experienced mainframe programmer to join a development team in support of the company’s Application.

Role Overview

Our client has an opportunity for an experienced mainframe programmer to join a development team in support of the company’s Application. This will be an exciting role offering the successful candidate the potential to enhance their Technical skills across all areas of the SDLC including opportunities in the area of Business/Systems Analysis and Project Management.

 

Knowledge and Skills

Professional skills

Ideally the candidate must be educated to diploma/degree level with 5+ years of mainframe experience including

Strong analytical, design and software development skills.
Broad knowledge of current technology toolsets and methodologies.
Self-motivated multi-tasker with good problem solving and investigation skills.
Excellent organizational, written and verbal communications skills.
Good interpersonal skills with proven ability to build strong working relationships with our customers and   development teams.
Ability to work on own initiative delivering cost effective innovative solutions to meet customer needs.
Cobol, MVS JCL, VSAM, CICS, TSO /ISPF, Changeman, Xpeditor and Fileaid

 

The following would be an advantage

MQSeries, Assembler, SAS, REXX
Experience as a Project Lead
Previous experience in the Insurance Industry

 

Fluent English and excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

 

The Candidate must be eligible to work in Ireland/EU,
