Role Overview

Our client is looking to hire two IT Project Managers to be part of a core team responsible for delivering infrastructure and application development projects on behalf of their business partners in Ireland and internationally. You would be an integral part of a new initiative for the Software Development team. The candidate should have project management experience, with strong communication skills, leadership ability & a strong track record of Project delivery.


Plan, control & monitor software development &software implementation projects. Breakdown structure to approximate work required for each task &identify when each will be performed. Facilitate initial proposal meetings & ongoing discussions throughout project lifecycle. Communicate expectations to team members & stakeholder. Resolve issues & solve problems throughout the project life cycle. Act as mediator between team members & stakeholders. Work with project sponsors to provide initial & later detailed project estimates &  facilitate project charters outlining scope, goals, deliverable, resources needed, budget & timelines.  Manage the project scope by making sure that changes to scope are documented & approved with project change request forms. Prepare status updates & presentations for senior management. Develop tools & best practices for project management &execution. Prepare project plans & liaise with participants of project for updates. Track issues/ risks & escalate when needed. Control & monitor project activities in accordance with company processes & project lifecycle. Work closely with external vendors when needed.


Experience and Qualifications

Excellent organizational & coordination skills and the ability to multitask & work with stakeholders in diverse locations are essential. Strong leadership skills and the ability to influence & motivate peers & senior managers and to work across organizations to gain buy-in & build consensus to deliver objectives. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Agile PM experience would be a bonus. Experience in planning &monitoring projects to make sure projects are delivered on agreed schedules. Articulate, confident & assertive. Experience in managing software development projects & working knowledge of the different software development methodologies an advantage.
Track record operating at a senior level. Good customer focus and  ability to liaise and effectively with Non-IT business & technical stakeholders. Process driven with a focus on quality & product delivery. Demonstrated leadership & team management abilities
and working in a team-oriented environment. Strategic, operational & tech management skills. Able adapt & respond to changes in environment & priorities. Self-motivated, meet tight deadlines & possess enthusiasm to learn new disciplines. Ability to elicit cooperation from senior management & other Depts. Demonstrate a creative & inventive approach to technical solutions. The candidate should be willing to adapt their normal working hours as required to facilitate meetings with US colleagues.


Degree in IT or Business. PMP, PRINCE2, Agile PM or ITIL certification would be an advantage. Experience or qualifications in CMMI, ISO or Six Sigma would be good to have. Travel to the US for business may be required.
