Our client is looking to hire a number Actuaries for its Operations Department. The individual will be an integral part of the Risk/ Actuary team in the client

Role Overview

Actuary / Risk Analyst

Team is responsible for: Setting crediting rates & fixed buckets. Liability duration calculation. Collaborating with Asset/Liability Management team to asset mix. Providing support for asset adequacy testing & fixed product development. Quarterly forecasts. Domestic individual life mortality & policyholder behaviour experience studies & assumption development.


The role

You will be involved forecasting crediting rates for quarterly forecast. New Money & Renewal crediting rate setting. ALM, valuation & modelling teams. Ad hoc research & corrective actions. Analysis of mortality variances volatility as it relating to financial results. Periodic mortality table construction & periodic requests from finance.  Development of mortality assumptions for Principle-Based Reserves. Produce & analyze risk reports. Communicate hedge results. Research capital markets and trends. Participate in ad-hoc projects focused on risk management within the business. Creation of internal/ external presentations focused on the variable hedge program. Providing support to US project team & to PMs. Assume ownership for assigned assets. Proactively seeking ways to improve current processes by leveraging the tools available to identify inefficiencies. Cultivating internal/ external relationships to ensure proper service levels are realized for the funds supported. Training new members within the unit. Writing operational procedures.

Qualifications & Skills


Degree in Mathematics, Economics, or Business Administration and must have obtained fellowship of at least one of the following: 1. Society of Actuaries of Ireland (SAI), 2. UK Faculty and Institute of Actuaries, 3. US Society of Actuaries (SOA). Relevant financial industry or partnership accounting experience would also be an advantage

Ability to develop & cultivate relationships across staff levels. Strong analytical & problem solving skills. Good PC skills with strong knowledge of spreadsheets, portfolio management tools & mainframe applications. Likes a fast-paced & high-intensity environment. Works well as part of a team and able to multi-task & absorb information across a range of products.
Strong oral & written communication skills to effectively communicate with business partners and external property managers. Willingness & desire to learn & to teach others.



5 years + experience in an Actuary/Risk role along with;. Pricing, Valuation,  Dividends, Financial forecasting,  asset adequacy testing,  applications actuarial & data modelling Analysis. Collecting Business Requirements. Experience in documenting Business Processes. Liability duration calculation. Regulatory requests. Very Strong knowledge of Excel, MS Powerpoint, Access & MS Project. Risk Reports. Hedge Results. Forecasting crediting rates for quarterly forecast. New Money / Renewal crediting rate setting

Monday to Friday 12:30 pm to 9 pm GMT (there may be a necessity to be flexible with the hours due to business commitments).
